Image making as opposed to photography is about concieving an image and using a camera as part of the image making process. In the above image I was walking in the forest at the Bunya Mountains and there is a large fig tree with a walkway that leads through the roots of the tree. I felt that an image of the walkway would be dominated by the everyday practicality of the constructed walkway - so I wanted the fairies of the forest to be part of the story - the regression to the view of a small child where reality and immagination are fluid concepts.

So this image is my playful way of entering the spirit of my inner child where I can again have streams running out of underground caves formed by the roots of this stimulating old tree.
